MMC’s(members of mayoral committees) for health from various municipalities participated in the MUNIMEC meeting hosted by Mpumalanga MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, in Mbombela.
According to a statement by the department, the meeting was aimed at encouraging and facilitating well-organised intergovernmental relations between local and provincial government.
” Some of the issues discussed were national health insurance(NHI), HIV/AIDS and TB, allowing open discussions and inputs on how government can improve service delivery, to provide high-quality, efficiency and accessible healthcare services that will transform the people’s lives,” said the department.
The attendees included provincial head of health- Dr Ndlovu, deputy director general for clinical health services, top management from health department, hospital CEO’s and health MMC from all municipalities in the province.
