The Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Major-General(Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has launched an investigation following recent allegations of corruption circulating on social media, levelled against members of Emalahleni SAPS(South African Police Service).

According to a statement issued by Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Captain Magonseni Nkosi, the nature of the allegations cannot be divulged at the moment, pending investigation, but the Major-General is not taking the matter lightly.

“ Major-General(Dr) Mkhwanazi would like the community members to know that the SAPS are committed to uphold the highest standards of conduct within all police ranks, and any officer found to be in violation of these standards will face appropriate disciplinary action.

“ We urge the community members not to believe everything circulating on social media and wait for Investigations to unfold. The integrity and trust of the SAPS are paramount, and we are dedicated to ensuring that justice is served,” said Captain Nkosi.

He added that information will be released after the detailed report is submitted to the office of the Acting Provincial Commissioner.
