A total of eighteen fully-furnished mobile classrooms were distributed amongst eight schools in the Govan Mbeki local municipality, to alleviate overcrowding and create a conducive environment for learning.

The donation, which came from a partnership between Sasol, Curro Secunda and Komatsu, was received by Mpumalanga premier, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, and MEC for education, Bonakele Majuba.

The department of education in Mpumalanga said that 33 JoJo tanks, donated by Sasol, were also distributed to schools in the area of Bethal, to provide access to improved sanitation facilities.

” The premier expressed her gratitude to Sasol for its continued support to the department of education in Mpumalanga province. She also wished the class of 2023 the best of luck in the upcoming examination,” said the department of education in a statement.

The events of the day included planting of trees by premier Mtshweni-Tsipane, as part of Arbor month programme.
