MEC Manzini delivers top-notch clinic at Driekoppies

A brand new state-of-the-art clinic was officially opened by Mpumalanga Health MEC, Sasekani Manzini, at Driekoppies in the Nkomazi Local Municipality , as part of the ongoing efforts by the government to provide quality healthcare services to communities, particularly those that rely solely on public healthcare.
The clinic, reportedly valued at R25,886,186.46, is expected to cater for local residents of Driekoppies and surrounding areas. It will operate for 8 hours daily, 5 days weekly.
In her keynote address, Manzini urged community members to take responsibility for maintaining the facility and show appreciation for the healthcare staff.
ā€œ Healthcare workers will continue to serve our people with dignity and respect. Community members should utilise primary healthcare services for their own health advantages, and work cooperatively with the department, and be tolerant towards healthcare professionals,ā€ said Manzini.

The comprehensive range of healthcare services to be provided include, Acute health services, Chronic health services, HIV testing and reproductive health(family planning),Emergency services, Dental care, Integrated child health services(IMCI & EPI), Maternal health services, Management of minor and chronic ailments, HIV counselling services, Immunisation and Child development, TB and Sexually Transmitted Diseases services, Cervical Cancer, Cervical Cancer screening, Mental health, Outreach services, Malaria services, Counselling on termination of pregnancy(CTOP), amongst others.
Manzini said any disruption of services or violence against healthcare workers will not be accepted. She furthermore encouraged the local residents to visit the clinic for regular health check ups.
ā€œ As a department, we affirm our commitment to promoting a culture of preventive healthcare, encouraging family members, particularly men, to take initiative in seeking regular health checks for early detection and treatment,ā€ Manzini concluded.
The MEC was accompanied by distinguished guests and health officials including, the Executive Mayor of Ehlanzeni District Municipality-Terrance Shabangu, Chief MM Shongwe from Matsamo Traditional Council, the Executive Mayor of Nkomazi Local Municipality-Phindile Magagula, Health Head of Department-Dr. Lucas Ndhlovu, and Councillor Million Shongwe, to name but a few.
