A police investigation is underway following the brutal killing of a 34-year-old female doctor who was reportedly shot outside a gym in Nelspruit on Wednesday 20 November, at about 5h30.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Captain Magonseni Nkosi, said the information gathered so far by the police, reveals that the victim was a doctor at a public hospital and the motive for her killing is unknown at this stage.
“ The police in Nelspruit, as well as paramedics, responded to a call and found the victim outside her car and she was unfortunately certified dead by medical personnel at the scene.
“ Though circumstances surrounding this tragic incident are still under investigation, preliminary investigation by the police indicates that the woman was reportedly shot and two suspects are being sought by the police,” said Captain Nkosi.
The Acting Provincial Police Commissioner in Mpumalanga, Major-General(Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has strongly condemned the incident and assured the public that a team of investigators is on a manhunt for the culprits.
“ The well formidable team of investigators is working around the clock to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to book,” said General Mkhwanazi.
