The three countries have since signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) aimed at boosting tourism through regional collaboration, exchange programmes, and strategic marketing within the Southern African Region, as well as local tourist development for major international tourists.
The Kingdom of Eswatini Tourism Authority has affirmed the collaboration between the countries, during an unforgettable tour and extravaganza specially organised for members of the media as well as tour operators from the three countries.

The tour included a welcome dinner hosted by the Eswatini Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Jane Mkhonta-Simelane, held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Mbabane.
Mkhonta-Simelane emphasised the involvement of tour operators and members of the media as a crucial element of the Triland initiative.
“ Members of the media and tour operators have played a vital role in promoting Eswatini as a travel destination, even amidst the pandemic.
“ These are the people who devised innovative solutions to keep tourism and its positive social impact alive at a time when it seemed nearly impossible. Creating local experience packages and promoting travel to scenic locations such as Graskop in Mpumalanga and Ponta D’Ouro in Mozambique, is one of the best ever, and assists in the GDPs of the countries,” she Mkhonta-Simelane.

In addition, the Minister called upon visitors travelling to the three countries to extend their stay and create lifelong memories by visiting all the tourist attractions on offer.
“ Visitors should extend their stay to make sure that they enjoy all the luxuries. It is best if people book for more than three days to fully experience Eswatini’s hidden gems, with its rich culture, stunning landscapes and warm hospitality. This will help to tell unforgettable stories about the great places we have in Eswatini,” said Mkhonta-Simelane.
