The Mpumalanga Department of Education has assured communities that the 2024 Grade 12 National Senior Certificate Examination is progressing as scheduled, despite heavy storms that caused extensive damage in some schools within all Districts on Monday 27 October.
Speaking for the department, Jasper Zwane said alternative venues including churches and other schools were used as part of the Departmental Risk Management Plan, to ensure that the candidates in affected schools are able to experience a seamless examination.

“ Candidates demonstrated remarkable resilience today as they successfully sat for their English Home Language, English First Additional Language, and English Second Additional Language papers.
“ The Department urges communities to stay vigilant and heed weather updates from the South African Weather Services(SAWS), taking all necessary safety precautions.” said Zwane.
