Chibuzo Chigozie Ogbunkwu 'Don'

A 35-years-old alleged drug dealer appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court after his arrest on Tuesday by members of the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team together with Crime Intelligence.
Chibuzo Chigozie Ogbunkwu ‘Don’ (35) facing charges of dealing in drugs and Corruption.
Upon his court appearance more charges against the suspect were added , counts of dealing in drugs, escaping from lawful custody after he ran away from the team during the arrest, Illegal immigration and Resisting arrest.
Ogbunkwu is believed to form part of a drug syndicate whose members were arrested during a disruptive operation on 28 June 2021 in Bethal.
The suspect also has additional charges of corruption after he offered an amount of R50 000 for his freedom. He was remanded in custody and will appear on Friday, 30 July 2021 for formal bail hearing.
