Driving Licence Testing Centres (DLTCs) to extend working hours for license renewal
Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison has announced that it’s Transport Administration and Licensing Section, which handles the issuing and renewal of driving licence cards, licence discs, Vehicle testing and others will be working extended hours in thirteen (13) DLTC’s in the province.
This follows the announcement of a 30 days grace period for holders of driving licence cards that expired between 20 March 2020 and 21 August 2021.
Holders of the specified expired driving licenses have until 05 May 2022 to renew them.
There is a considerable backlog of expired driving licence cards as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mpumalanga Community Safety Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe is therefore appealing to motorists to take advantage of the extended deadlines and working hours that have been allocated so that they do not miss the opportunity.
“It is important for every driver whose license has expired to visit their nearest DLTC to renew their licences”, says Shongwe.
The centres will be operating extended hours as follows;
Monday to Friday
08h00 – 18h00
Saturdays 08h00 – 14h00 from 07 April 2022 to 05 May 2022.
The arrangement is applicable to the following DLTC’s;
Piet Retief, Secunda, Sabie, Lydenburg, Elukwatini, Whiteriver, Nelspruit, Delmas, Standerton, Malelane, Belfast, Cascade, and Libangeni. Libangeni will only be working Saturdays.
