Mpumalanga Department of Education, led by MEC Cathy Dlamini and Head of Department(HOD), Lucy Moyane, held the Integrated Men and Women Dialogue at the Lowveld Botanical Gardens.

The event, which was also attended by officials from the Department of Education Head Office, touched on various topics such as moral values, estate planning, healthy lifestyle, amongst others.

It was equally viewed as a platform to allow officials to share their personal experiences and reflect on certain influences that impact the behaviour of men and women in the workplace, as well as advancing gender equality in the workplace and to eliminate discrimination.

MEC Dlamini said social ills must be tackled head-on in order to progress as a nation. She also said that the event is crucial in finding solutions to personal problems, and other challenges that affect our loved ones and those who live amongst us in society.

ā€œ I am firmly convinced that occasions such as this are meant to cover such topics and trigger a conversation or dialogue amongst us. Our nation is infested with social ills such as femicide, gender-based violence, drug abuse, financial mismanagement, anger mismanagement, crime and lawlessness, which in a way seem to have been normalised,ā€ said MEC Dlamini.

Experienced speakers were invited to equip the attendees with viable strategies of dealing with personal challenges
