A Nigerian male suspect, 24, was arrested in Sabie, Mpumalanga, on Friday, January 3, 2025, for possession of alleged drugs, including CAT, Heroine, and Crystal Meth.
The arrest was made by members of Operation Vala Umgodi, who were patrolling the area.
In a separate incident, a 52-year-old suspect was arrested in Graskop on Thursday, January 2, 2025, for contravening the Tobacco Products Amendment Act . The suspect was found with 66 cartoons of illicit cigarettes valued at approximately R26,000.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear at the Sabie Magistrate’s Court on Monday, January 6, 2025.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, commended the members for their efforts in addressing illegal activities in the province .
