Old woman are to be protected by civilians in all communities, how ever young men see old woman as tools of sex in our communities.
A 43 year old woman was reportedly gang raped by seven men in the evening around 23h00 at Mhluzi near Middelburg. According to.information at Police disposal states that four suspects aged between 17 and 24 have been arrested in connection to the babaric act.
According to information received , the old woman is said to have accompanied a relative who had visited the family earlier and on her way back, she came across a group of men who were driving in a bakkie.
The men came out of their vehicle , dragged her to a nearby room where they took turns in raping her. As if this was not enough, at about 05h00 am the next day (02 October 2022) another man, believed to be residing in the said room arrived probably from work and feasted in the old woman. The said man t fled the scene after repeatedly raping the old woman leaving behind the woman who then reported the matter to the police. A rape case was opened and the docket was assigned to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit to probe.
Members of SAPS did not blink an eye on this matter but made sure they attend to it as quick as possible. Four suspects were cornered and arrested by the astute members. The suspects are expected to appear before the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court facing rape charges. The men and women in Blue are still in pursuit of the remaining suspects.
