The Phelophepa Healthcare Train arrived at Ximungwe Train Station in Bushbuckridge on 3 June 2025, bringing much-needed healthcare services to the community.
Mpumalanga MEC for Health, Sasekani Manzini, alongside the Executive Mayor of Bushbuckridge, Lydia Moroane, Ward Councillors, Senior Manager from the Department of Health, Sarah Gumede, as well as other officials, were present to observe the arrival of the train.
According to the Departm

ent of Health, the train started its journey in Mkhondo, followed by Belfast and Komatipoort. The Phelophepha Healthcare Train is regarded as a vital initiative aimed at providing easy access to healthcare services in remote areas.
It will reportedly stay at Ximungwe Train Station for two weeks, from the date of its arrival, where it will offer a range of essential services, including eye care, cancer screening, psycho support, dental clinic, and treatment for mild illnesses.
“ MEC Manzini welcomed and appreciated the services offered on the train, and requested the Executive Mayor(Moroane) to mobilise the community to utilise the services that have been brought to their doorstep,” said the Department of Health.
