MEC Mashilo addressing learners

MEC for Human Settlements in Mpumalanga, Speed Mashilo, led a delegation made up of officials from the Department of Education, councillors, community structures and other stakeholders during a visit to Kwa-Manala High School at Allemansdrift C, in Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality, on 17 January.

The visit was part of the Back-To-School Programme by MEC’s(Members of the Executive Council) and Parliamentarians to monitor the state of readiness for the 2024 academic year at various schools across the province,to understand the needs, and draw intervention strategies.

Mashilo commended the school for instilling disciple in the learners.

“ We agreed with the Legislature that all members of the Executive Council must go to schools in the province, to give them support, check if the schools are ready, if the parents are not frustrated to register their kids, if books are delivered as per the policy of government, and to check the environment.

“ Certainly this school is one of the best in the area of Dr JS Moroka and Mpumalanga as a whole,” said Mashilo.
