A Veterinarian conducting free vaccination

A Rabies Vaccination Campaign was conducted by the Veterinary Services under the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA), at Verena, in the Thembisile Hani Local Municipality, on Tuesday 16 January.
In a statement released by DARDLEA, pet owners of all age groups came out in numbers to support the campaign, by bringing the dogs and cats to receive free vaccination offered by the Veterinary Services against deadly diseases.
“ They were also encouraged to monitor the behaviour of their dogs, prevent dog bites, or seek urgent medical attention, should they be bitten or scratched. Rabies is as fatal to dogs and cats as it is to humans,” said DARDLEA.
