Two mobile clinics were received by Mpumalanga health MEC,Sasekani Manzini, on behalf of the department, from Goedehoop colliery-Thungela mine.
The mobile clinics are reportedly intended to cater for the communities in Steve Tshwete(sub-district) local municipality and other areas in Nkangala district.
In her keynote address, Manzini said: ” I am pleading with you(community) to utilise the mobile clinics for your well-being. A mobile clinic is equipped the same as a stationed clinic, there’s medication”.
The executive head of corporate affairs at Thungela mine, Mpumi Sotho, said: ” This is a start of a good relationship and we hope next time we meet we will be handing over a fully fledged clinic to the community members”.
Other dignitaries in attendance included, head of department-Dr Lucas Ndhlovu, Nkangala health district manager-Joshua Mmithlame, Chief director primary health care-Dr C Nelson and officials from provincial and district offices.
