Orlando Pirates embarrassed Sekhukhune United(babina noko) with a resounding 5-0 victory in the MTN8 Quarter final match played at Orlando stadium on Saturday evening.

The Bucaneers, who are the reigning MTN8 champions, dictated the pace with accurate passes, playing like they were possessed by an impatient spirit, while keeping Sekhukhune on their toes from the first minute until the final whistle.

The opening goal for Pirates came in the 22nd minute from super striker Zakhele Lepasa. Chibuike Ohizu squandered a free chance for Sekhukhune to equalise by missing a penalty in the second half. Pirates scored the second, third and fourth goals in the 57th, 59th and 63rd minutes from Lepasa, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, Monnapule Saleng, respectively.

Lepasa misused a chance to score a hat trick when he missed a penalty towards the dying minutes of the second half, but he made up for his error in the 87th minute and finally clinched his third goal, sealing Bucs’ 5-0 victory. He also walked away with the prize for man of the match.

Orlando Pirates will go head to head with Stellenbosch FC in the semi finals, while Mamelodi Sundowns will play against Kaizer Chiefs.
